Inner City Daydreams

Year: 2016 – 2020

Medium: series of photographs

Size: various sizes

As a person who grew up in a large urban centre, I was always drawn to observe the people and architecture around me and how they relate to one another. I am also interested in how each person feels about the city they live in, what are the hopes and dreams of those who migrate to large cities in search of a better life, and how much people define the city they live in and are, in turn, defined by it.

‘Inner City Daydreams’ is a series of colour and black and white photographs made in the streets of different cities of the world from 2016 to 2020, where I explore my own perspective and point of view of life inside urban centres.

This artwork has visual narratives that seek to portray human experiences, feelings and emotions that unfold in urban environments around the world; to portray interactions that happen inside the urban spaces, and to explore the limits of the individual and collective stories that are possible within the geometrical spaces of cities and their neighbourhoods.
